Internet Safety Parent Seminars

In cooperation with the Mount Prospect Police Department, Officer Dirk Ollech talked to parents about Internet safety topics. He discussed the topics of malware, phishing, and  spyware.  However, of great concern are potential dangers lurking on social networking sites such as myspace.com, primarily the concern that pedophile predators will use these portals as a tool to find victims.

i-Safe America, Inc. is a non-profit foundation whose mission is to educate and empower youth to safely and responsibly take control of their Internet experience.

Using guidelines established by i-Safe America, District 57 is taking this opportunity to implement a comprehensive strategy that will provide our children, with the awareness and knowledge they need to recognize and avoid dangerous, destructive, or unlawful behavior on the Internet, and respond appropriately.
