Strategic Objectives
1) The District will maintain student achievement levels, per the District Academic Statement.
Approach: The District will continue its efforts to rank within the top 5% of school districts using ISAT information. This performance target will be supported by the recommendations of our professional development study, as they apply to curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Measurement: The District will score in the top 5% of Illinois elementary school districts in ISAT performance.

Time Frame: 2008-09
2) The District will pursue more extensive differentiated instructional experiences for all students through a greater use of MAP data and analysis of individual student growth patterns.
Approach: The District will conduct surveys of staff to benchmark current and anticipated usage levels for MAP data. A report indicating staff use will be presented to the Board of Education.
Measurement: The student achievement goal for 2008-09 will be 65% of the students meeting their composite MAP growth targets.

3) The District will explore 21st Century skill sets, building common knowledge and language for our staff, and throughout our school community.
Approach: District activities on Institute Days, early dismissal days and other in-building venues will focus on building the foundational level necessary to support the 21st Century skill set acquisition for our students during the life of the Strategic Plan. Informational efforts will also be targeted for parents and community members to inform and engage them regarding this important component of instruction in District 57.
