Student Housing Decision for 2008-09 Reached

News of the January 17 BOE meeting.

At the January 17 Board of Education meeting a decision was reached regarding the student housing configuration for the 2008-09 school year.

For discussion, was the recommendation of the Facilities Review Committee to transition the first grade to Westbrook School for the 2008-09 school year. This recommendation was reviewed and the decision of the Board of Education was to have the first grades remain at Fairview and Lions Park Schools for the 2008-09 school year. Westbrook School will remain a Pre-K-Kindergarten facility for the next school year. Furthermore, a timeline was established to complete strategic planning for the District, and a student housing configuration for the 2009-10 school year by June 30, 2008.
