Past Accomplishments

The support and generosity of individual donors and local businesses have enabled the District 57 Education Foundation to provide valuable resources to our schools. Here are some examples of what those resources have accomplished since the Foundation’s inception in 1998:

·       Adopted the Technology Plan and provided computers in every classroom;

·       Provided wireless portable computers to the Lincoln Junior High School computer lab;

·       Sponsored the adoption of the Character Counts! Program;

·       Provided 17 digital cameras for use by personnel throughout the District;

·       Initiated a pilot program for the use of classroom hanging monitors;

·       Provided a variety of aerobic training equipment for Lincoln Junior High;

·       Supplied materials for Guided Reading and Shared Reading Programs at Fairview and Lions Park Schools;

·       Installed an interactive WeatherNet Station at Lincoln Junior High, as seen on NBC5;

·       Upgraded the Tech Lab at Lincoln Junior High with new, hands-on programs;

·       Built the climbing wall at Fairview School;

·       Enhanced the Lions Park Learning Resource Center with a Character Counts! mural and grade-level books;

·       In a collaborative effort with the District and local businesses, created a one-of-a-kind Learning Resource Center for young learners at the new Westbrook School.
