Pilot February thru June 2004: The implementation of a new phone system in the Summer of 2003 gave anyone with a Voice Mail (VM) account the ability to retrieve their voice mail messages as email messages. As specified in the District Technology Plan, VM accounts have been activated for each ElEd classroom teacher as a pilot to test the value of this technology, without the expense of a classroom phone. The phone system stores VM as an email server would -- emails with .wav file attachments. Because of this, there is no $ cost to deploy this technology in the classrooms. In May 2004, the ElEd teachers were surveyed.
